Stories from parents and educators.
--- Edel Blake Principal St Cronan’s JNS Swords
‘The children, staff, and parents of St. Cronan's JNS had the privilege of working with Regina for a memorable and impactful term. Each week, selected groups of children participated in focused play therapy group work, tailored to their needs. Prior to these sessions, Regina took the time to meet with both staff and parents, providing insights and information that were both supportive and engaging.
The weekly sessions were transformative for the children, with the positive outcomes evident both in school and at home. The final session, which brought together staff and parents, was equally impactful and inspiring.
As Principal, I can confidently say that Regina’s work has been invaluable to our school community. Her expertise and compassionate approach provided a level of support that every school would benefit from. As one staff member so perfectly put it: "Every school needs a Regina."
Regina was a true joy to work with, and her weekly visits quickly became a highlight for everyone involved. She is greatly missed, and we would welcome the opportunity to work with her again in the future’.

‘Our daughter attended play therapy sessions with Regina. It was a really positive experience. She looked forward to the sessions each week and as time went on we saw noticeable change in her ability to manage those overwhelming feelings. The parent sessions were invaluable, they allowed us to reflect and discuss changes we could make to support our daughter. We learned so much.
Regina is warm and approachable and I would recommend her to anyone considering play therapy for their child.’

‘I can't recommend this playful parenting course enough! As an often tired Mam of two energetic young children, I can sometimes feel overwhelmed with the workload of my day and, in turn, dis-engage from that playful space they occupy. This course altered how I approach playtime and interactions with my kids. It offered practical understanding and advice that is manageable and, most importantly, for a mind like mine, helped me unhook from feelings of guilt, understand my own emotions and why I sometimes find it so hard.
This course was incredibly well-structured and offered a mix of insightful theory, practical tips, and real-life examples. The facilitators were warm, knowledgeable, and relatable, and they created a wonderfully friendly and safe environment. They taught us how to tap into our inner child and be with our kids in a way that feels natural, fun, and connected.
What stood out to me the most was how the course emphasised being more conscious in play. Instead of just going through the motions of games or activities, I learned how to be present with my children, tuning into their cues and creating an environment where they feel seen and heard. It wasn’t about perfecting the game or setting up really elaborate play scenarios—it was about connecting and letting the joy come naturally.
Since the course, playtime and more generally, time with my kids has been so much more joyful. I've noticed my children laughing more, talking to me more, feeling freer, and expressing themselves in new ways. I’m also able to set clearer boundaries with kindness, something that was a challenge before, while keeping the mood light and playful.
I feel more confident in play. and the best part is that my kids have noticed the change. We are more in tune with one another, and just enjoying the moments we share, whether we’re playing games or simply having fun in the moment.
If you're looking to enhance your parenting, connect more with your children, and rediscover the joy of play, this course is an absolute game-changer.’

‘We’ve seen our daughter come on in leaps and bounds since attending play therapy. We have Regina to thank for changing our perspective on how we see and respond to her.
We are communicating much more with her at her own level and the tantrums and ‘meltdowns’ are few and far between anymore. We couldn’t recommend Regina’s services enough!’

‘Regina was a wonderful support for our son, who was struggling with negative emotions, particularly in school. Her gentle and positive approach created a space where he felt comfortable and valued.
Over time, he grew more confident and positive and we credit Regina for this transformation.’
--- Parent of 4yr old boy
‘Regina’s Parent Support was such a great help to my family when my 4 year old was experiencing very frequent, intense emotional outbursts, and was having difficulty settling into preschool. My husband and I knew we needed some sort of intervention to help our little boy, but were unsure what route to take. A friend recommended getting in contact with Regina for some Parental Support.
It was the best advice! Regina was very easy to talk to, and I was really impressed with how quickly she was able to get to the heart of the matter. She really understood where our child was at, and was also able to give us a fresh perspective on our situation when we felt in the thick of it. Our conversations felt very safe in that I never felt that my child’s behaviour or our parenting skills were being judged. Regina was so encouraging and reassuring, and I came away from our sessions feeling much more confident in supporting our son. She gave us lots of practical and realistic advice that we were able to implement after our sessions.
Regina has so many great ideas for building connections with our son and insights into his behaviour. And they made a difference. Using the strategies she advised, and changing our mindset a little, we saw gradual and positive improvements in our son’s wellbeing and his emotional regulation. Today, a year and a half later, he is a boy who has happily settled into his first year of primary school and is much more at ease in himself - something we could never have imagined when we started this process. We feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Regina, and would highly recommend her Parental Support to anyone.’
