About Me

Regina Igoe

I am a fully accredited Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, specialising in Play Therapy. I graduated with First Class Honours in both my M.A. in Creative Psychotherapy (Humanistic and Integrative Modality) and my Diploma in Play Therapy.

For 10 years, I volunteered at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin, where I saw firsthand the healing power of play for a child’s mind and body. As a mother of three, I’ve also experienced many moments where play has truly "saved the day."

Beyond my psychotherapy and play therapy qualifications, I’ve pursued further training in areas like AutPlay, creative approaches for working with adolescents, Teleplay, TheraGroup Play, medical play, trauma-focused CBT, Parents as Partners, and Art in Therapy. I’m passionate about promoting healing and growth through creativity, play, and movement.

What I love most about play is how it brings laughter and joy but also offers a safe space to explore the darker, riskier parts of ourselves. Play has a unique way of guiding us through challenges while keeping us grounded in safety and connection.

I offer individual and group therapy sessions, working closely with both children and parents to nurture authentic relationships, boost self-esteem, and encourage flexible thinking. I also love facilitating workshops for childcare workers, teachers, parents, and adolescents.

In my spare time, I serve as an Athletic Development and Sprint Coach, helping both underage and adult teams find joy in movement and enhance performance, whether for personal fulfilment or competition.

I currently provide play therapy and therapeutic support to children at NDNSP, as well as through my small private practice. And, as a mother of three (plus one dog!), a therapist and coach, play is very much at the heart of everything I do.

Values and Beliefs

I believe we all have the wisdom within us to grow and change—we just need the right environment to feel safe enough to find our own way. Families come in all shapes and sizes, and I have a deep respect for the unique strengths and challenges each one brings. My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental space where children and families can tap into their potential for healing and growth, while rediscovering the fun of being together.

Working with families from different cultural backgrounds has been a privilege, and I’m committed to being sensitive to each family’s unique needs. I’m passionate about using play to work with children. Their resilience and insight inspires me every day.

I also recognise that children are part of a bigger community, so I work closely with parents, caregivers, schools, and other professionals in their lives. I’m dedicated to fostering inclusion and celebrating diversity, whether it’s ethnicity, faith, lifestyle, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Everyone deserves a safe space to be heard and understood.

My ultimate goal is to help kids on their journey toward growth and healing. I want to empower them to find their voice, so those who love them can better understand and support them in new, meaningful ways.
